Barbara Heck

BARBARA(Heck) born 1734 in the town of Ballingrane (Republic of Ireland) and daughter of Bastian and Margaret Embury. Bastian Ruckle is the daughter of Margaret Embury and Bastian Ruckle was born in Ballingrane in 1734. She got married Paul Heck 1760 in Ireland. The couple had seven children of which 4 survived infancy.

The subject of a biography has been as a key participant in major events or has enunciated distinctive thoughts or suggestions that have been recorded in documentary format. Barbara Heck did not leave no written or personal notes. Even the proof of the day she married was a secondary issue. Through the entirety of her life as an adult, there are no primary sources that allow us to reconstruct her motives and actions. In spite of this she gained fame in the beginning of Methodism. It is the task of the biographer to describe and define the myth of this particular case and to try to portray the person who is portrayed in it.

Abel Stevens was a Methodist scholar, who published his work in 1866. Barbara Heck is now unquestionably one of the pioneer women in the time of New World ecclesiastical women, due to the advances that was made through Methodism. This is because the record of Barbara Heck must be primarily based on her contribution to the cause and her name remains forever connected. Barbara Heck, who was unintentionally involved in the founding of Methodism as well as in Canada she is one of the women whose fame stems from the tendency of a successful institution or movement to exalt its origins to reinforce its belief in the continuity and history.
